  • The Art and Story of Jean-Michel Basquiat

The objective was to create a book on any topic. I chose my favorite artist, Jean‑Michel Basquiat, a young creative force that emerged from New York City. Basquiat’s complex upbringing exposed him to a variety of different cultures, which influenced him to adapt distinctive elements of Non-Western art that introduced a new type of aesthetic of Modernism in the 1970s.

The Art and Life of Basquiat encompasses the journey of a passionate painter through the early, middle, and late stages of his artistic career. Containing three chapters in chronological order, each delve into his works during that time including Basquiat’s sketchings printed on fine toothed drawing paper and paintings printed on coated paper. This +60 paged book is hand cut, scored, bound, and eager to be read with included paper surprises such as a perforated postcard, a graffiti stencil, and more.

  • Mental Illness Book Covers

The project objective was to create three book covers on one concept. The topic for this project is mental disorders which are often overlooked and misunderstood. This book series contain three mental disorders on anxiety, chronic depression, and bipolar disorder.

Those who have mental disorders are more likely to experience magnified emotions, alterations of perception, and moments of skewed judgment. This was achieved through vibrant visuals, intriguing patterns and textures that are visually engaging.
